Farmer for a Day

Day to day farming involves so many different jobs, from caring for animals, like sheep and chickens to building and fixing things. Are you up for the challenge?

Farm to Fork

Farming is all about growing and rearing the food we need and enjoy. Choose some delicious British grown produce to make some yummy snacks to share.

Grow Your Own

Growing your own fruit and vegetables is very rewarding and so we'll start you off by planting your own seeds to take home and grow together.

Minibeast Hunt

A visit to the outdoors is never complete without exploring the micro-world of minibeasts! Come and discover the amazing creepy-crawlies in their natural habitat.

Orienteering

Work as a team to use your navigational skills to collect tokens against the clock around fields, through woodland and along river banks. Who will win?

Nature Detectives

A treasure hunt with a twist! Work as a team to find some stunning natural objects, learning all about the amazing wildlife, flora and fauna around you.

Wild Cooking

Learn how to safely set a fire and cook outdoors. An essential part of your own survival adventure on our purpose built fire-pits in our outdoor classroom.

Den Building

Using natural materials and a few handy tools to create your own home from home in the woods! A great teambuilding activity- will yours be built to last?

Sensory Journey

A stilling, mindful activity to fully immerse yourself in the nature around you using all your senses. A lovely, reflective session to begin or end the day.

Super Soil

A skills based scientific enquiry activity to asses the health of soil, one of the most vital life sources on the planet, while younger learners explore soil as a habitat for mini beasts.

River Studies

Make the most of the access to Tyne Waters Meet, Warden Gorge and the River Tyne as part of your rivers topic. Compare the natural and human characteristics of the environment around you.

Biodiversity & Interdependence

Explore how the many trees and plants around the farm disperse their seeds using weather and the behaviour of wildlife through fun games and activities.
